Special Events

Comedy Splash
In 2004, Camp Quality hosted its first-ever gala event. The event was called Comedy Splash and is now an annual event held in July at Shmooze in downtown Toronto. The event was attended by 300 professionals who were treated to a night of Canada's best stand-up comedians, good food and music. The event raised almost $15,000 in its first year! I was responsible for the general coordination of the event. Below is the invite for last year's event (click to enlarge).

Lift Off
The image below (click to enlarge) is the invitation used for an event that I coordinated for Camp Quality. It was an intimate event, titled Lift Off, designed to draw a smaller, younger crowd than the Comedy Splash event held each summer. Around the venue 10 locked treasure boxes were displayed and each attendee received a balloon with a key attached. If the box opened, the person with the winning key won the prize inside. It was a huge success, with approximately 75 people attending and over $5,000 raised. I was responsible for every aspect of the event: volunteer recruitment and coordination, acquiring sponsors and prizes, dealing with suppliers (venue, catering, entertainment), as well as all printing and decor.

Third-Party Events
Each year, Camp Quality is the grateful beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from two cycling events: Tour for Kids (www.tourforkids.com) and Ride for Karen (www.rideforkaren.com).

As National Facilitator for Camp Quality, I acted as liaison for both events, as well as assisted with logistics, volunteer & participant recruitment, sponsorship, etc.
